We have been providing the cleaning services at Poole Quay Boat Haven for 11 years and we are pleased to say that they have just been awarded the top rating, FIVE anchors, for their facilities as a marina.
We clean their shower facilities, offices, galley and laundry room daily and during the busy summer months twice per day. It’s great to know that our high standard of cleaning is recognised in this award.

The Gold Anchor award scheme is a voluntary assessment programme focused on customer service and providing Quality Assured Berthing for any boat owner. |
The scheme is designed for the marina consumer by The Yacht Harbour Association with contribution from the RYA. With 23 years’ experience of Gold Anchor standards, this is a point of reference for all boat owners to make an informed decision on where to berth.
Ratings range from one to five gold anchors. Any award issued is a sure sign of a credible and quality marina with the number of anchors indicating the facilities and services available to berth holders.

For the third year running, the Gleam Team have entered a challenging charity bike ride. This year the Gleam Team entered a team of local ladies in the Cahors Challenge 2011, cycling in relay over 540 miles from St Malo to Cahors in the midi region of South Western France. The Gleam Team are a local, successful cleaning company established for 23 years and employing approximately 50 staff. Julie Osborne, Managing Director says:-
“as a company we are so pleased that we have contributed to raising so much money for the charities that are so close to our hearts, whilst keeping fit, having fun and boosting team morale”
We were part of 79 teams and some 328 riders, all cycling under cloudless blue skies and temperatures in the late 20′s. Many teams rode the whole distance in fancy dress and for us girls we rode the whole way in French maid costumes which apparently turned a few heads from the locals along the way.
The ride started under the historic walls of the maritime city of St Malo and from there we cycled from Brittany into Normandy and headed south over the Loire to spend the first night in Saumur. Then, following river valleys that climb into the foothills of the Massif Central, we spent the second night on the outskirts of the city of Limoges. We then rode south towards the headwaters of the Dordogne on day three and the Challenge finish line is the 14 century medieval bridge over the river Lot at Cahors.
We raised £8750 of which 50% has been donated to Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation. 25% has been donated to the Arthritis Research Campaign (arc), one of the UK’s leading arthritis research organisations. One of our girls father recently died after suffering with crippling rheumatoid arthritis and Lupus for many years and we wanted some of our sponsorship to go towards helping to find a cure for these degenerative diseases. 25% has been donated to Friends of Forest Holme, which is an independent charity dedicated to raising funds for Forest Holme hospice and specialist palliative care unit in Poole. One of our dear friends recently died from cancer and Forest Holme provided her with amazing care at this difficult time.
The Gleam Team raised over £5,000 in previous years cycling from France to Germany and around Ireland
